The third major learning style is kinesthetic. (Remember science class – potential and kinetic energy?) Think of this person as learning through expending energy. Does he need listening and seeing too? Yes, but he learns through activity. This is the child that needs to act out the lesson or put it into practice or he won’t learn. (Actually that’s not too bad, is it?) He can actually listen better while he’s doing something with his hands, but he can learn the lesson you’re trying to teach him by doing something related to the lesson. But guess what? While the other learning styles can learn through either listening or seeing, they learn better by also doing.
Plan active participation in your class for this learner and everyone will have fun. (Including you!)
