Teaching Tip of the Week

Check back Mondays for the latest!
An Exciting Start
To introduce a Bible Lesson or Missions lesson, try by jumping right into
an exciting part, even if it is in the middle of the lesson. Then return to
the chronological beginning since you will have their attention.
Example for a lesson on Mephibosheth:
"There was a knock on the door. 'Open up, we're from the palace!'
"'Oh no,' thought Mephibosheth, "they've finally found me!'"
"Perhaps he thought back to when he was a five year-old living in the palace,
the grandson of a king...."
Or the battle of Jericho:
"The soldiers all came to a stop. The priests blew their ram's horns and Joshua
yelled, 'Shout, for the Lord has given you the city!' This was not the kind of
fighting the men were used to. Would it work?"
"Just seven days earlier, Joshua himself was thinking about how he would fight
against the strong city of Jericho...."
