Teaching Tip of the Week
Check back Mondays for the latest!
You can draw a child immediately into a Bible lesson with an introduction
that relates to his experience. Here are a couple of examples:
Jesus raises Lazarus (John 11):
Know where the children are and what kind of experiences they have. Also
remember things that happened to you as a child and use those as springboards
into a relevant Bible lesson.
What does your mother do to help you get
better when you are sick?
(Let the children respond.)
Mary and Martha might have tried all of those things to make Lazurus better.
He was very sick. They might have tried to putting extra blankets on him,
feeding him chicken soup or making him rest, but nothing seemed to work.
Jesus announces His departure (John 13:33-14:6):
Have you ever had someone close tell you they were moving away? One
evening while Jesus was celebrating the Passover with his close friends, the
disciples, He made a surprising announcement: "I am going away, and you can't
come with me."
