After teaching the verse, ask a child to pick any letter that appears in any word of the verse. Instruct the children to repeat the verse and stand on the first word that has that letter in it, sit on the next, stand on the next and so on.
Example: John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12
If a child picks the letter “O,” the children would stand and sit alternately on “John,” “of,” “world,” “who,” “follows,” “not,” “of,” and “John.”
This game is not only fun, but it also gives the children a chance to work off some of that energy they have so much of. (And is a great workout for those quadriceps!)
